Here we go again, all that has made the voluntary carbon market great is the non-dependency on government action, no related to corruption, influences or decisions, and here the market is at the feet of any decision that might be made without enough pre-information. It may not be a problem from Sweden, but other less informed countries may take advantage of project developers and outsource their work.
When do sales of carbon removal credits benefit climate?
What if Microsoft was a Danish company, hence contributing both with emissions and emission removals to the overall Danish CO2 Balance?
Would you consider this a double counting?
(Or is it just 2 counts of 2 different scales, eg. Company-level and State-level, just like with GDP)
Thanks!
(Assumption being they finance 100% of the project without subsidies of course)
